The Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, seeks a postdoctoral research fellow or junior scientist with the following research focus: Interpretation of data measured at the Atmospheric Station Křešín u Pacova (Czech Republic) using atmospheric modelling. The main workload will be focused on the application and modification of existing models and development of new models, if necessary. Further, a complex interpretation of the atmospheric station measurement data will be asked. Additional tasks will comprise consultations of students, organizational work and networking with international colleagues.
We ask:
– A PhD degree in atmospheric sciences
– Theoretical and practical knowledge in atmospheric modeling (modeling of meteorological parameters, mixed layer modeling, atmospheric transport, chemical transport modeling, inversion modeling), application and modification of existing models, eventually development of new models
– Practice in working with datasets, statistics
– Computer skills at a level necessary for atmospheric modeling and data processing, programming
– Capability of independent scientific work including publishing papers in impact factor journals. Postdoc:
minimum one publication with main authorship in an impacted journal, junior: at least two more impacted publications (main or coauthorship)
– Participation in project (grants) submissions and realization of research projects
– Good English communication skills
– Team work
– Willingness to travel about once in two month to (predominantly) European countries
